Our cute little puppy

On June 4th, 2014, she came to us. One day my husband came with a basket covered with a small cloth, the cloth was moving here and there, so me and my 6 years old daughter was curious to see what was it. We removed the cloth to see whats in there.

It was a cute little puppy with cute round golden brown eyes which took our hearts on the first sight. we were so excited and took her out of the basket, she was quite heavy. After a long search on the internet, I named her Sassy. She is a dark brown labrador who inspires almost everyone in our hometown with her cuteness. She was very active and eats a lot, yeah!! she's fond of eating and always be hungry. She even jumps beyond the sky to catch a piece of bread.

And she is very naughty as well, who bites almost everything into pieces and swallows all the colourfull stuff around us, among all her favourite is balloons! They say dogs are colour blind, well! we seriously don't know how those things look to her!!

She turned the backyard into her kingdom and had fun to chase squirrels and birds there. She would bark at any tiny ants or bees but a cow was too big for her. She always used to dig a large hole in our backyard to bury her favourite things and thus turning the garden into a mess. Those doing doesn't bother us coz, she already had everyone wrapped around her paws.

After all those troublesome, finally she grew up crossing her adolescent. We were able to witness the maturity and politeness of her. Yeah!! she didn't bite things anymore.

My life saviour

We thought she is just a pet until that day...
One morning, I went to the backyard, as usual, it rained heavily the previous night, without even realizing I went closely near a cobra. I was so shocked to see a gigantic cobra that close, my legs became so weak and refuse to move a bit, my brain was jammed for a while to think so I was standing like a statue, without doing anything. After a short love stare of me and cobra, Sassy came to the spot by jumping on the air. She barked at the Cobra so that it gets distracted and changed its position, so I managed to move to a safe zone and immediately called the rescue team. The cobra got scared at the barking and didn't move a bit, by the time the rescue team came we almost finished our fight.

That day was an adventurous thriller in my life. I almost have gone a half-way to the heaven's staircase, to see my ancestors. After that unforgetful experience, I've realized that, If  I happen to die that day it's probably, not because of the cobra bite but a severe heart attack. My pet becomes my life saviour that day, I was so touched and proud of her. After hearing the news, people cherished her and came to visit her to our home. She became an action star overnight.

A mysterious adventure of my dog

There was an unexpected change happened in our life, we shifted our house to a new place. Everything was new and it took us some time to fit into it. But Sassy was not very comfortable coz of the stray dogs around our neighbourhood. Those dogs were not so welcoming at the arrival of sassy.

They all came and barked at our front door to threaten her. She was so scared to go out, a month had passed like this, one morning I came out looking for her but she was not around. I thought she must be around somewhere but hours passed she didn't return home. I was so worried and called her name several times "Sassy... Sassy... raised my voice louder and louder to the core, but she's has gone somewhere very distant and can't hear my cry. The whole day and night we searched for her all over the place, by beeping our motorcycle horn and shouting her name, believing that she can identify the sound and come to us, but nothing happened like that. My daughter, who is very fond of her couldn't bear the absence of Sassy, neither us. Our whole family literally went to a deep sorrow by missing her. We never give up on searching her, time passes, days pass, the month passes still we can't able to overcome the sorrow.

Every day I used to feed the stray dogs, hoping Sassy would not starve at the moment. Our tears rolled down while seeing her chain and toys. We didn't get rid of her things coz we strongly believe that she will definitely come to us one day

After 6 months, one fine afternoon, a skinny dog was sitting on our portico, I was so scared to see the dog coz, it looks so different, with a skinny faded body, large dirty nails and a lot of buries all over its body which is bleeding. when I opened my front door it came straight into the house. I noticed a dirty old collar which resembles the same as our sassy.

Now I realise who she is, yes!! its Sassy. I screamed out loud, "Sassy", she came and hugged me and never leaves me for a while. After a long cry, I calm down myself and treated her wounds and feed her. Then immediately I called my husband, It was a quite surprise for my daughter after she came back from school, she screamed out of joy!

Our neighbours were so surprised that how she managed to come to us after all her adventures outside. yeah!! she's all fine now. After having lots of challenging experience she becomes much more strong and matured.

An expert says, dogs probably dream about their owners while they sleep. Well, I totally agree with it. How we underestimate these furry beautiful creatures? there's so much we don't understand about them, the quantum of love they've for us and the trust they place towards us. I wonder if we do any justice to all the love they give us?
 So, love dogs they'll never give up on you easily!!
