How to make a homemade natural hairdye

Natural hair dye:

It's very common that our hair turns grey but it does not stay common if this happens at a young age.

This usually happens genetically but sometimes it happens if people do not take good care of their hair.

Also due to nutrition deficiency, pollution and direct sunlight, our hair starts to turn grey, using chemicals or using dye to make our hair black also leads to grey hair with a very fast effect.

Ammonia and parabens are the harsh chemicals that are used in many hair colours.

It smells unpleasant and can damage your hair, which is why we must use natural ways to turn our hair black.

Here, I'm sharing an amazing homemade and natural remedy which not only turns our hair black but also makes them denser and stronger.

Let's get started,

Ingredients:

  • Henna powder - 50gms
  • Indigo powder -50gms
  • Indian gooseberry powder (Amla) - 50gms
  • Pepper powder - 10gms
  • Black sesame powder - 50gms

To make a decoction:

  • Tea powder - 2tbs
  • Coffee powder - 2tbs
  • Water - 500ml

Preparation:

  • Dissolve the tea and coffee powder in 500ml of water and bring it to a boil, simmer it for 10 minutes to get a strong decoction and let it cool.
  • Now, mix all the powders together in a bowl (except the indigo powder)  and add the required amount of decoction to make a paste.
  • Once the paste is ready, transfer this into an iron container and keeps it covered for the whole night because the iron present in that container mixes with the paste overnight and turns it to black.
  • And in the morning, add a little more water and cook this paste on a low flame for 5minutes in the same container, after that, let it cools down.
  • At last, mix the indigo powder along with some water to blend it completely with that paste.
  • Leave it for at least 2 hours for this powder to gets activated into the paste.

After all, this process, apply this paste all over your hair and cover it with a shower cap.

Let it sit for at least 3 hours and then wash your hair with a plain water.

This looks like too much of work but its absolutely worth it.

This natural dye is a healthy substitute compared to the harmful chemical one, however, this DIY will not change your hair into jet black but it will give you a nice glossy, dark brown colour which lasts longer.

"Natural beauty is the best beauty", so try it once and see by yourself.

Note:

  • Make sure to wear gloves while applying coz, henna will stain your hands.
  • you can increase the quantity of the indigo powder to get a darker shade.
